Adent

Summary

Adent helps patients remember and follow through on dental care at home — where most clinic information is typically forgotten. I designed digital treatment plans with 3D education, forms, and follow-up for Danish dental practices.

Forgotten in the parking lotDirect link

Patients leave the clinic with a plan they half understand — then forget most of it by the time they’re home. Adent had to bridge that gap without adding burden to the people running the practice.

Over several months I worked through interviews with Danish dental professionals and patients, mapping the journey from consultation through post-operative care at home. Treatment plans often went unfulfilled not from lack of intent, but from poor comprehension and admin that ate into clinic time.

What kept surfacing: handouts don’t survive the parking lot. Patients needed visual, plain-language education. Clinics needed GDPR-compliant workflows that saved real minutes every day, not another system to manage. The hypothesis that emerged was that care continues at home when comprehension comes first and compliance follows naturally.

“Comprehension first, compliance follows.”

Every UX and visual decision followed from that. I designed digital treatment plans with 3D videos, interactive guides, and automated form updates — developed with Danish dental professionals across hundreds of procedure types.

Treatment plans patients understand 🦷Direct link

The first job was replacing paper patients forget. Short 3D videos and plain-language guides explain procedures in terms people retain — with a clear checklist for start dates, before photos, and next steps. When treatment involves real cost and recovery time, the full plan shows pricing, insurance options, and a timeline so nothing surprises them at home.

Follow-through couldn’t end at the clinic door. Daily brushing and flossing routines earn points and streaks so habits stick, while results screens show how home care is paying off — progress people can see without waiting for the next checkup.

Clinic workflows that save time ⏱️Direct link

Clinics needed efficiency as much as patients needed clarity. Digital health forms let people update medical history from home in minutes — GDPR-compliant, with consent built in. Product subscriptions and instruction cards extend clinic guidance between visits without adding chair time or another system to manage.

What changedDirect link

Research and clinic rollout feedback validated the direction. Patients retained more of what they were told. Treatment plans became visual and accessible at home instead of forgotten handouts. Clinics reported real time back from admin without sacrificing care quality.

Adent became the bridge between consultation and daily life — healthcare UX that follows patients home without adding burden to the clinic.

What I wanted to show you…
Medical UX earns trust when patients feel cared for after they leave the chair.
What I learned…
3D explanation beats dense copy for procedures people are anxious about. Show, then summarize.
